Stunning architecture on a beautiful beach
Just back from hotel posidon, super break ,I can't complain about anything, my room was clean with a fantastic view, both breakfast and evening buffets were enjoyable, everywhere was spotlessly clean, the bar prices were good value. I loved the design of the hotel but did wonder how they allowed it to be built in such a stunningly beautiful location. I found all the staff very friendly and professional, I had no trouble with speaking English, I could barely say good morning. Will definitely return again.

Although this hotel may suit others it was not for me. Location was rather isolated in a residential area. €8 euros per day parking. You are unlikely to find a space on nearby streets. No bars ar restaurants nearby. Nearest supermarket 40 mins walk. So you have to rely solely on what the hotel has to offer. There are 3 gift shops on site but food or drink must be purchased from the hotel bar or meal plan. Food in restaurants is ok... but nothing special. Bar prices are fairly good. Water can be purchase at the bar €1.80 for a 1.5 lire bottle. The rooms are basic. There is a fridge a fridge but no kettle/tea making facilities. Just a few yards to a long sandy beach. Outdoor swimming pool is clean and inviting. Indoor pool/spa is charged for. If you pay for all inclusive and don't want to leave the hotel then it might be ok. I didn't help that the hotel hosted a chess tournament while we were there. 7 year olds upwards. There are 500+ rooms and the hotel was full mainly of kids... although they were well behaved, the noise was horrendous and is amplfied by the design.

I wrote to the hotel well in advance that I was interested in checking in a little earlier (2 hours), and I informed them that I was only going to rest before my flight and would not use the paid night, since I would be leaving the hotel at 8:00 PM, so they could have sold it again. No one answered me, so we arrived at the hotel at the standard check-in time, I waited in line to check in for up to an hour despite my warnings that I was only coming for 4 hours and that everything was paid for. Terrible staff, terrible hotel…

NIGHMARE HOTEL ......
Do Not Stay ln This Hotel - Ever !!!! ... What a nightmare of a place !!!! ... The female Reception staff are disgusting , arrogant , self-centred individuals who will go out of their way to Not Help you if at all possible .. lf your not a Spaniard DON'T go here or You will be sorry !! .. l stayed here for 31 nights (Oct/Nov '24) and they locked me out of Car Park and tried to make me pay TWICE for parking which was costing me €8 a day ! .. No welcome , No smile , only aggression at every opportunity .. Female Reception staff need to be Re-trained or Retired .. They are a total liability to this Hotel !!! .. This Hotel will continue to lose a lot business because of them - they have no shame !!! ... l wrote a long and detailed review about the Hotel Playa de Guardamar in December 2024 (last month !) , but it has mysteriously disappeared from this site !!!! ... l rarely write reviews about anything , let alone Hotels , but l couldn't less this pass by as other innocent customers will end up as l did in this nightmare of a place ... Please take my advice and avoid this place like the plague !!!!! ....

After staying at this hotel it is in need of a complete modernisation and redecorating. As it is stuck in the 70s it is very noisy especially at night time. If your rooms are near they lifts these are none stop all night. the balconies are tiny only two people can fit just.
