Good but could be improved
I was on room 102 and this was the real disappointment for me in that this room and 101 are attached to, but outside the main building and I would imagine in bygone days served as some kind of store room for the main house. Access was via approx 7/8 concrete and fairly steep steps which led to a concrete landing and on the right, an immediate set of 4or 5 very steep and narrower concrete steps at the top of which is a heavy fire door to be negotiated whilst gaining access with the swipe card. On leaving, that door sprung shut pretty quickly, almost pushing you down the set of narrow steps.
I mentioned to the staff on leaving that such a room wasn't suitable for the elderly of physically challenged and that should be made clear at the booking stage Whether this was passed on, I don't know.
Breakfast was ok but just ok... and I'm not sure it there was a shortage of staff on the morning of my visit but it was bedlam in the dining room with the few available staff trying hard to keep up with clearing and resetting tables and guests wandering around looking quite uncertain of where everything was. Very few hot options for vegetarians and none really for vegans

Excellent location and beautifully clean hotel and rooms. Avoid the meatloaf and macaroni cheese. Only 5% meatloaf!!
Staff could smile a little .. wouldn’t hurt them … but the hotel is lovely, breakfast was very good… but can’t get over the macaroni cheese overdose… I can still taste it ♂️
