Friendly staff, great restaurants & experiences
We had a fantastic honeymoon at Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres. Lucia at the beach was always friendly and quick! She really made the experience special. We also had a great wine tasting at La Cava with Sebastian. He was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining! Overall, this was a great week full of delicious food, cocktails, and friendly staff.

Excellence Coral is a must visit.
This resort is beautifully laid out and the food is amazing overall. The cocktails are also very tasty across the board. The rooms and pools are great. The entertainment around the resort was also a lot of fun. Juan Carlos at the excellence club lounge was the best bartender we had all week. Jonathan our waiter at our favorite restaurant “The Grill” did a fantastic job also taking care of us.

Great stay at ECPM
We stayed in an excellence club private pool room (5070) May 10-15. Just to give background, I have been to all Excellence properties and we are Diamond Rewards members. Overall, we had a nice trip and will return to ECPM (Excellence Coral Playa Mujeres) at some point in the future. ECPM brings many of the design ideas from EOB (Excellence Oyster Bay) and EEC (Excellence el Carmén) so if you like the modern feel of those resorts, you will definitely like ECPM. I have also observed how lessons learned from other Excellence properties have been addressed in the design and operation of ECPM.
Room: overall, we liked our room and the location was GREAT (close to everything). Warning - if you are a light sleeper, you will be disturbed. We have not stayed at any other Excellence where we could hear so much noise from the hallway. The layout of the room was different so we did have to get used to feeling like we were in one room versus having the feeling of some separation between the bed and sofa/tv areas. We also would have liked shades by the jacuzzi tub (like they have at EEC). The lack of shades made the jacuzzi tub unusable. If we were on the third or fourth floors, I probably would have used the tub without shades but being on the ground level was a no go for me. I think the resort should make amenities usable if they are going to advertise them. I hope they consider installing shades very soon. A major change in the design of the rooms was the bathroom. It was completely separate and afforded much more privacy than the typical design at Excellence. We really liked our private pool although the pictures on the website did not appropriately portray the outdoor area and pool setup. The pictures of the private pool on the EEC website give you a better idea of what to expect.
Food: mostly good! The tomahawk at Magna was certainly a highlight. There were too many options to try in five nights, but we were pleased with almost everything we ordered. Even the boneless wings at the Sports Bar were exceptional. We did like Milo, but missed Basmati.
Drinks: mostly good. There was definitely a difference in quality/mixology skill among the various bars. I asked for a cosmo at The Grill and it was okay. I went to the Excellence Club bar and asked for a cosmo right after and it was made exactly as I would expect - a proper cosmo. Bartenders were friendly all around. Would have been nice to have an opportunity to get more drinks at the lobby bar in the evenings, but they were quite full at peak times. Also would have been nice if they had a plaza bar like they do at ERC (Excellence Riviera Cancún).
Entertainment: the vibe is on the chill side and everything seems to shut down around midnight. They have much of what we typically expect at an Excellence property - live music, shows in the theater, silent parties, paint and sip, afternoon games by the pool, etc. We enjoyed the Whispers experience and recommend to anyone who appreciates craft cocktails. It was worth the wait in line although I would recommend they try to improve the reservation process.
Pools: there were two Excellence Club pools (each with their own swim up bars) plus a main pool. It seems those in the non club areas have a bit of a hike to get to the main pool if they do not have a swim up room. Floats are NEEDED!
Spa: we did not experience it. The availability for the diamond ritual was so limited we could not get a time slot we liked except for the last day of our trip. We decided not to take that appointment since we do not like being on a schedule our last day of vacation.
Overall, we enjoyed the stay and were pleased with the service. The team at ECPM does a great job on following up to ensure requests have been granted. Thanks for a great week, ECPM!

We love excellence !!!!
We loved our stay at excellence and had amazing service!!! Yessica and Farid at the pool were our favorites. They are so kind and fun!!
We ate at all the restaurants but our two favorite were 1- Racines - we did the 9 course tasting and it was all delicious and our server Alejandra was amazing!!
But now lemme talk about The Grille!
Wow. Hands down the BEST restaurant at excellence coral!!!! Our server was Abraham Uribe and he was the most attentive and wonderful server we have ever encountered. He made our dining experience the most memorable night. The food was also so delicious - we loved the marrow tacos and the ribeye, Kansas steak and porterhouse were cooked to perfection. The sides were delicious-Mac and cheese and cauliflower was to die for! And you HAVEEEE to get the red velvet!!! The vibes were immaculate and we will definitely be back.

Excellence Coral is truly a dream! The facility is stunning, clean and fun. From the rooms, to the restaurants to the pool area and beach. The vibes were 10/10. The pool area was relaxing and fun. The food was absolutely delicious, we opted for the Excellance club and upgraded to ocean view- WORTH IT! The service exceeded all expectations. Every staff member we encountered was incredibly kind, attentive, and made us feel so welcomed. They made the trip that much better. It was an unforgettable experience from start to finish! Highly recommend.
