Location and service top, food flop
The location of the restaurant is top, right on Straubinger Stadtplatz. The service was nice and accommodating. Food unfortunately not recommended, bland and without taste. Price/performance is also not given here. The rooms I can not rate, did not stay overnight.

petty rude people
So I had an awful experience - as some other foreigners - by reading the comments.
Not only that the owners are extremely rude, but they are petty too - after I left them a review of the poor service I received at the hotel, they flagged it as false so that google can remove it. Thankfully my credit card receipts should prove that I have paid for couple of nights. I will attach my google timeline snapshot as well.
As to my review I will attach a copy over here:
I had to stay there due to a breakdown for couple of nights. Definitely not happy with the experience. The room we were at was dirty especially the floor - seems like it was not mopped recently. Some of the staff was a bit rude. Thankfully there was this one girl that was alright so mostly dealt with her.

A single disappointment!
We were during the Gäubodenfest nice eating here more often and also always satisfied. The food we were served today was the worst in years:-( The salad was very puny and the turkey breast strips cut too thick and coated with a sweet and sour ready-made sauce. Ancient, hard bread was served in slices - inedible! In the dish “noodles with chanterelles” one could look for the chanterelles. But the noodles were garnished with raw onions and the vegetables had an extremely high bite and did not go with noodles with chanterelles. The Parmesan touted on the menu was missing. There was no waiter in sight and no one asked if it tasted good. The beer was too warm. Despite complaints, no espresso or similar was offered. We will definitely not come back!

Simple hotel in historical garb
It is a fairly simple hotel in a partially historic building. The staff is friendly. The location is right on the market. The attached restaurant was good, home-style. The food was delicious.
We had to take two double rooms, no discount for children. The total price was not appropriate for the rather low standard of the room.
Breakfast was good but rather spartan.

never again
Room was on the third floor w/o elevator.
Rooms are clean but small and very outdated - so small that we could not open our suitcases. A double room does not even have a fridge and the bathroom can make you claustrophobic.
Owner can behave erratically. Waiters and other staff, however, are very friendly.
The food is sometimes good or so I have heard - my experience was differebt though: The Spanferkel was tough, the dumpling still half frozen, cabbage tasteless and the sauce clearly from a package. Tasted like micro waved food. Breakfast-buffet was overpriced and not worth the money.
Save yourself the trouble and go to a good hotel.
